VR180 usually looks sharper
VR180 concentrates the available pixels across the front hemisphere. Because most filmed adult scenes keep the action in front, this format uses resolution more efficiently and often produces better perceived detail.
360 video covers the whole environment
A 360-degree capture lets you turn completely around, but spreads the same nominal resolution over twice the angular area. The added coverage is useful only when scene design makes use of it.
Resolution labels are not directly comparable
An 8K 360 video does not put the same number of pixels in front of you as an 8K 180 video. Bitrate, lens quality, camera focus and encoding also affect the final image.
Which should you choose?
Choose VR180 for most seated, forward-facing filmed content and maximum clarity. Choose 360 when environmental freedom is central. Real-time 6DOF content is a separate category and can respond to positional movement.
